This winter the gourmand can have the unique experience of seeing Reuben Riffel (Reubens Restaurant) and Dawie Botha (Anthonij Rupert Wines) showcasing what they can create with the produce of the valley, within their special places. From the cellar and herb garden at Anthonij Rupert Wines to the dining room table in Reuben’s own home, one will experience the culinary magice these two can create and pair.


Guests will meet at the original Reubens in Franschhoek, where it all started. From there the culinary enthusiast will be whisked away in a shuttle to the herb gardens at Anthonij Rupert Wines, where they will receive an educational tour by Horticulturist Bryan Beverly. Here they will learn all the little secrets the plants have and how best to use them. After getting a mind full of information to use at home they will be taken to the sacred realm of Reuben’s kitchen at home, where he will show all his personal little tricks and secrets. All of this will be followed by a leisurely lunch at the Riffel home, paired with some of Dawie’s beautiful wines, such as the L’Ormarins Brut, the Cape of Good Hope Sauvignon Blanc and the Anthonij Rupert Optima, a deep rich blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The dessert will be paired with a 1984 Bukkettraube.
